KUALA LUMPUR: Trio Datuk T mungkin dikenakan tindakan kerana kesalahan mengedar dan menayang video seks melibatkan pelaku yang dikatakan mirip Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, kata polis. Timbalan Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah, Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, berkata kemungkinan itu wujud berikutan siasatan mengikut Sekyen 292 Akta Kanun Keseksaan kerana kesalahan mengedar bahan lucah itu menjurus kepada mereka, pihak yang menayangkan video.
Beliau berkata, kertas siasatan kes itu dijangka dihantar ke Pejabat Peguam Negara Khamis ini.
"Ada kemungkinan mereka akan didakwa mengikut Sekyen 292 itu kerana ia menjurus kepada mereka, pihak penayang."
"Namun bukan polis yang menentukan keputusan itu sebaliknya pejabat Peguam Negara. Kami akan adakan sidang akhbar nanti bila segalanya selesai," katanya ketika dihubungi di sini, hari ini.
Ketika ditanya mengenai perkembangan kertas siasatan, beliau berkata, masih terdapat dua lagi perkara yang perlu dikemaskini dan dilengkapkan dalam siasatan itu, sebelum dihantar ke Pejabat Peguam Negara untuk tindakan susulan.
"Kalau boleh bagi pihak kita seawalnya hantar (kertas) itu pada Khamis ini...sementara itu kami tunggu respon daripada pihak yang menyediakan dua perkara itu.
"Dua perkara ini tidak boleh didedahkan dahulu ketika ini kerana ia lebih kepada pendakwaan dan menganggu tugas pejabat Peguam Negara," katanya.
Ditanya mengenai sama ada polis mempunyai kuasa untuk menahan pelaku dalam video seks itu, Acryl berkata: "Kami (polis) tiada peruntukan undang-undang untuk menahan mereka dan mengambil keterangan.
"Kita kena rujuk kepada pejabat Peguam Negara untuk sebarang penelitian dan semakan. Mungkin mereka ada peruntukan undang-undang terhadap si pelaku," katanya.
Pada 21 Mac lalu, video itu dipertontonkan kepada beberapa wartawan terpilih oleh satu kumpulan dikenali sebagai "Datuk T" di Carcosa Seri Negara.
Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Ismail Omar, baru-baru ini mengumumkan bahawa rakaman video seks itu adalah tulen selepas disahkan oleh pakar tempatan yang memeriksa video berkenaan. - BERNAMA

Police may charge the 'Datuk T' trio responsible for screening the video recording of a sex act involving a man resembling a prominent opposition leader after the investigation papers have been sent to the Attorney-General's Chambers this Thursday for further action.
Federal police CID deputy director Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said police did not dismiss this possibility as it was an offence under Section 292 of the Penal Code, to screen pornographic material.

"But it's not the police to decide on this (whether to charge those responsible). We will hold a proper press conference on this once everything is completed," he said when contacted byBernama today.
Asked about developments on the investigation papers, he said there were still two matters to be sorted out, before the investigation papers could be sent to the A-G's Chambers.
"If possible, we want to submit the investigation papers by this Thursday," he said.
Asked whether police had the power to arrest the individuals involved in the sex act, Acryl Sani said police did not.
"There is no legal provision for the police to arrest and take statements from them. We have to refer the matter to the A-G's Chambers for any review," he said.
On March 21, the sex video was screened for several selected journalists at Carcosa Seri Negara, Kuala Lumpur.
The mystery of the 'Datuk T' trio - comprising former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Perkasa treasurer Shuib Lazim was uncovered on March 23 when Rahim and Eskay admitted at a press conference that they had screened the sex video for the group of journalists.
Inspector-general of police Ismail Omar recently said that the sex video recording was confirmed to be genuine by experts who examined it.
