Blogger Hafiz wins 2011 Apicta award

KUALA LUMPUR: Blogger Muhammad Hafiz Ismail has won the Prime Minister Best of the Best Award in The MSC Malaysia Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2011, with his blog, "Life Through My Eyes' (http://apistakkisah.blogspot.com).Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) and the Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia are the joint organisers of the Awards.
In a joint statement today, MSC Malaysia and MDeC said Muhammad Hafiz beat almost 250 other submissions.
The statement said 246 local companies, individuals and students submitted their Made-in-Malaysia information and communicationS technology (ICT) solutions to compete in 19 categories and 35 submissions were selected as either winner or merits in their respective categories.
I'm not a perfect person... but I move towards it ;)
Among the winners were:
Best of E-Government (IRIS AXESS P5000) -- IRIS Corp Bhd;
Best of Security (Secure Token ST3) -- SecureMetric Technology Sdn Bhd;
Best of Financial Applications (Digital Transaction Banker) -- eBworx Bhd;
Best of Start-Up Companies -- Open Dynamics Sdn Bhd; and,
Best of Tertiary Student SoftWare/Hardware Projects (Health3) -- Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation.
The statement said the winners would compete for international recognition at the International APICTA event in Pattaya, Thailand later this year.
Meanwhile, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Datuk Seri Maximus Johnity Ongkili, said the Awards represented one of the platforms that underlined the government's ambition to drive creativity and innovation to lead greater wealth, quality and societal well-being for the country.
"In fact, the World Bank Report 2010 listed innovation as one of the three reforms necessary to drive the Malaysian gross domestic product forward by five per cent or more, year-on-year," he said. -- BERNAMA
