Three Mile Island accident marked

Dozens have gathered at Three Mile Island to mark the 32nd anniversary of America's worst nuclear accident. On 28 March, 1979, a combination of mechanical failure and human error led to a partial meltdown at the nuclear power plant in central Pennsylvania.

REMEMBERING THE THREE MILE ISLAND INCIDENT: The Three Mile Island nuclear plant seen in the early morning hours today in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Demonstrators gathered at the 32nd annual vigil in remembrance of the disaster at the Three Mile Island nuclear plant, to remember the accident, in which unit number one's core melted down on March 28, 1979.
