Australia may soon house the biggest and most advanced radio telescope ever constructed, so powerful it will enable scientists to see back to the first 300,000 years after the Big Bang.

Astronomers will use the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) to try and crack some of the universe's key mysteries.
3000 giant dishes would be scattered from WA to New Zealand
It will help them explore the nature of dark energy, the evolution of the universe and the possibility of intelligent life on other planets.
Together Australia and New Zealand are one of two candidates shortlisted to house the telescope.
